The Silent Barrier to Happiness
As women, we're often our own toughest critics. Our inner critic delivers a daily dose of negative self talk.
I told myself that my inner critic was helping me to succeed and prevents me from making mistakes.
But what I have learned about myself and from coaching others is that we say things in our head that we would never say to others. We second guess our decisions or become indecisive. We project our own challenges and deficiencies on others.
This negative self-talk can undermine your confidence, cloud your judgment, and impact your decision-making. An internal dialogue like this not only affects your personal growth but also hinders your ability to grow positive realtionships.
To overcome your inner critic :
NOTICE: Pay attention when negative emotions pop up. They’re often tied to your strengths! (Pro tip: That’s your inner critic talking!)
LISTEN: Hear what she says and recognize her patterns. Journaling can help!
TELL: Gently acknowledge her and choose a different, positive path.
FOCUS: Ground yourself with a physical sensation. Feel your seat or rub your fingers together.
FIND: Discover the gift in your thoughts. (Pro tip: Awareness of your inner critic is a gift itself!)
Here's are a few results you will notice when you can control your inner critic:
Decisive action: Ability to take decisive actionwith confidence.
Effective Communication: Clear messaging can build team morale and create direction.
Opens Innovation: Be creative and open to the creativity of others.
Deep Relationships: When we are less critical towards ourself, we naturally become less critical toward others.
Your greatness starts from within! By transforming our inner dialogue, will gain confidence, clarity, and compassion.
